About Us
Hutt City Health Centres operates from two locations; Lower Hutt and Wainuiomata. We’ve been around since 2010 and in our current purpose-built facility since 2014. We are 100% owned by South Link Health Services, under the umbrella of the South Link Education Trust.
We have three GP’s, four Nurses, a Primary Care Practice Assistant, four Admins and a Business Manager. Our Business Manager also looks after Plimmer Steps Medical Centre. We have a Care Kiosk onsite that provides us with clinical measurements for our patients and seamlessly inserts these into Medtech.
We are part of Tū Ora Compass Health, our PHO.
We are centrally-located in Lower Hutt, just off the Melling exit and five minutes walk from Queensgate Shopping Centre. We are 15 minutes drive from central Wellington or 30 minutes by train, which run regularly to and from the Hutt all day. Our nearest Pharmacy, Hutt City is on the Ground Floor.
We have 7400 patients of which 19% identify as Māori, 18% Asian, 9% Pasifica and 20% Quintile 5. We are proactive in ensuring equity.
We are open Monday to Friday and operate morning and afternoon sessions. Each session has twelve 15-minute patient appointments.
We conduct full inductions onsite for all new staff members. We provide ongoing training to keep up to date with regulations. We have weekly peer review, and monthly full team meetings.
We use the latest version of cloud-based Medtech Evolution as our Patient Management System, and we have Manage My Health, so patients can look at their results and order repeat prescriptions. We have a Dunedin-based South Link Health IT team who are supportive and knowledgeable and assist whenever we encounter issues. We have strong collegial relations with primary and secondary services, as well as pharmacy and allied health.
In addition to IT, South Link also provides financial services including budgeting, accounts payable and receivable; clinical expertise; payroll; HR and recruitment advice; marketing and communications.
